Roosevelt Island Tram

The Roosevelt Island Tram connects Roosevelt Island to Manhattan by spanning the East River.  It makes approximately 115 trips per day and at its peak it is 250 ft above the East River.  We took a ride on the tram for the experience and because of the views.  To be completely honest we got off the tram - walked around - reboarded and rode back in to Manhattan.  =)  It was certainly worth the ride as we really enjoyed the views.  It gives you a different perspective on things.  You can use your MetroCard for the trip which is pretty neat!

I've read that Roosevelt Island is a pretty neat place to check out.  But it was getting late in the day and so we just went along for the ride!  Maybe another time..... =)
