We took a really great tour of Radio City Music Hall in 2011. It was absolutely gorgeous and very interesting! Radio City opened to the public in 1932. I can not begin to imagine the reactions it received......it's still truly stunning 70 years later. It was larger than I even imagined and the tour took you places you normally would not get to see while attending an event here. We even got to meet a real Rockette! That was pretty fun! And a cool side note.....we were unable to actually enter the theater this day because Cirque de Soliel was in the process of setting up their new show that would be calling Radio City home for awhile. I was really disappointed as I was hoping to walk into the theater and just stand there and take it all in. But a view from a booth high above the floor was the only peek we got. Fast forward a year......if you read my earlier post about us attending a taping of The Chew - we were actually given tickets to attend this very show in its very last week at Radio City. =) Funny how things turn out sometimes!!!! I would have gladly traded a peek at the theater for the experience we had that night. It was amazing to be there and see a show. I'll never forget it!
Tours can be booked on the Radio City webpage, or you can purchase them in the gift shop at Radio City. And the tour is also included on the New York Pass =)
