We HAD To Go Back!

So after our first whirlwind encounter with NYC, neither of us could stop thinking about it and started researching things online about the city.  We knew someday we would go back!  We knew we would have to plan for it and save money and decided 2010 would be the year.  We both celebrated our August birthdays in NYC.....3 years after that very first encounter.  We planned and planned, researched and researched and had so much information compiled on our "list".  The "list" was everything we wanted to see and do on the trip.  We knew it was impossible to complete but we were up for the challenge!!!!!  This "list" has been such fun.  It's been filled with our dreams of what we want to do, it's been so awesome when we have been able to check those things off the "list", and the "list" seems to continue to grow!  Like I mentioned we have since been to NYC 2 more times after this big trip and every moment has been amazing.  Every day I think about NYC and remember things we saw or did and it always makes me smile.  I love to think about being in the city and love looking at all of my pictures, and there are a ton!  So on that note...... let's get to the fun part of all of this!!!!

I'll start with a little bit of Times Square!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love to be there!  All the colors, the sounds, the crowds, I just love it all!  There is no place quite like it!

Love the colorful ads everywhere!

On BROADWAY!!!!!!!

Yep...that's the Naked Cowboy!

All 3 trips we have stayed right in the heart of Times Square.  It's been PERFECT! The double decker busses practically pick you up right outside your hotels front door, there are several subway stations to access easily, there is NEVER a shortage of taxis if you need one and we have never felt unsafe for even a moment here.  We spend most of our day out away from TS getting around the rest of the city and then as the day draws to an end we make our way back and spend the rest of the evening shopping, dining and just sitting back and taking in everything in TS.  Also if you decide to take in an evening Broadway show you are so close you don't have to be nervous about getting around at night.  That said we did venture away from the area in the evenings after we were confident about the subway station and again never were worried or felt unsafe.

A fun way to "experience" Times Square is to check out the EarthCam NYC cams!!!!  You can find them here http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/  You can see live feed from different areas of Times Square and I personally love being able to hear the sounds of NYC....... which is mostly horns honking, sirens going and the brakes of the big busses.  =)  I tend to check in quite often when I am feeling "homesick".  You really never know what you might see going on here!
