McQueen......

Posting about Saks got me thinking about our walks down 5th Avenue and of all the amazing window displays we have seen.  The one that always comes to mind first featured the creations of Alexander McQueen.  I had written about our adventure to The MET to see the Savage Beauty Exhibition but realized I had not shared any photos!!!  I do not have many but here are a few.  This exhibition is something I will never forget.  It was an experience, an attraction if you will.  Almost seemed like a glimpse into his thought process for the designs.  Just really, truly amazing!  I could ramble on and on about it!  But I won't.   =)  I'll let the few photos speak for themselves.

And then if this was not enough McQueen....... Bergdorf's had absolutely gorgeous window displays promoting the exhibition.....  My photos don't do them justice.

These "waxy" roses were gorgeous!

This window was exquisite!!!!!  I wish I could have gotten a good photo of it!

A little more of Saks......

So besides the amazing selection of shoes, we browsed a few other areas of this fabulous store as well.  I really enjoyed peeking in all the mini boutiques around the perimeter of the first level.  Actually I think I almost enjoyed looking at handbags and sunglasses as much, if not more than the shoe selection!!!!!

Shoe heaven exists in NYC

If you love shoes....Saks Fifth Ave is a MUST on your list of MUST see's while in NYC!!!!!  Where else can you find a shoe department so large - it seriously has it's own ZIP CODE!!!!!!  It is a very beautiful display of designer shoes....... Chanel, Prada, Manolo, Louboutin, Gucci, Fendi, Jimmy Choo.... they are all here.  It's a dizzying number of gorgeous designer shoes everywhere you look.

I have always loved high fashion - watching Style with Elsa Klensch on the weekends when I was home from school and seeing all these amazing designers collections as they went down the runway.  I've never been one to read magazine articles but I love to pick them up and flip through all the latest fashions and shoes have always been my very favorite.  Maybe because being in Nebraska there just isn't much exposure to fashion like this but I'm always so intrigued by seeing designers imagination come to life.  This explains why I loved the Alexander McQueen exhibit so very much!

Anyways, besides their ridiculously amazing shoe department I really enjoyed browsing at Saks.  I'll admit we didn't spend a dime in the store but we had such a great time!!!!!  Such a beautiful store!

If I ever happen to win the lottery........  I will return to Saks! =)

Even on the discount shelf they were spendy!

Don't get caught in the rain without your Chanel rain boots!
