Max Brenner's Chocolate By The Bald man

One of our most favorite things is...CHOCOLATE!!!!  And did we ever find great places to indulge in chocolately goodness in NYC!!!!!!!!  One of our most favorites is Max Brenner's Chocolate By The Bald Man at 841 Broadway between 13th and 14th Street (near Union Square).

Now I can't quite remember how we found out about this place....I believe mom saw it in a travel or food magazine and after reading about it and researching it we knew we would find our way there!

That afternoon it was a destination for us so we hopped subways and made our way there.  A plesant surprise was a big street fair taking place right down the street in front of the restaurant.  It was such a fun atmosphere and we figured we were here - why not check it out!!!  So we wandered through a bunch of booths at the fair before heading in.

From the moment you walk through the door you feel as if you are in a chocolately paradise!!!!  They have a shop at the front where you can buy all kinds of wonderful things.

We both knew exactly what we wanted!  We started off by sharing an appetizer which were potato skins but not like any we'd had before.  These were so delicious.  They had a cheese sauce on them instead of shredded cheese and were also dusted with cocoa powder!!!!  Then for dessert!!!!  (Our main course!)  A trio that consisted of a scoop of vanilla crepe-flake ice cream, a mini chocolate shake, and the most delicious - most amazing chocolate cake with a liquid chocolate center.....and if that wasn't enough......it had a shaker of chocolate sauce to pour over the top!!!!!  Heaven on a plate!!!!!

We really enjoyed our visit and it was a fun atmosphere!  I'd highly recommend a visit to Max Brenners!  Now, there are only 4 locations in the US and a few internationally.  If you find yourself in NYC or maybe even Las Vegas (there is a Max Brenner's at the Caesar's Forum Shops) check it out!!!!!

If you see this building...MB is right around the corner!

CBS Early Show

In 2010 we celebrated my birthday in NYC!!!!  And what a fun day that was!  We started off in the morning with passes to the CBS Early Show.  We got to be part of the "audience" and then take a tour of the studio after the broadcast.  It was really fun and we did a great job waving and hollering on cue!!!!  Since I figured there was a really good chance we would be spotted on tv I made a silly sign to hold up so everyone would know it was my birthday! =)

Anchor Harry Smith and weatherman Dave Price were so nice and came by and talked to us in between segments.  The crew of the show was great too.  And right at the end of the show he walked over to me because it was my birthday =) so he talked to me for just a bit!!!!  He asked how old I was and while I was truthful and said 35 he thought I said 30.... =)  That's ok right!?!?!  I'll take it!  haha!

After the show we took a nice tour of the studio and the guide was really fun.  She showed us where they filmed different segments and how things worked - even taking pictures for us.  It's funny how small alot of those sets look in person.  Overall it was a really fun experience!

I'll even share my  "seconds" of fame with you........  =)   I was so surprised he came over to chat with me!!! CBS Early Show

NASDAQ Opening Bell ceremony

One unique experience we had was attending the opening bell ceremony at NASDAQ in the heart of Times Square!  The process to get tickets was quite simple and it was such a fun thing to do.  Start to finish it didn't take up alot of time and it was exciting to be in the studio cheering and counting down to the bell!

The studio is just inside large glass windows open to Times Square which was really neat.  They also allowed cameras in which of course was very cool!  Before we left we were allowed to go on stage and have our photo taken behind the podium and watch a live market report.

Everyone at NASDAQ was so friendly and welcoming to the visitors and made it a very enjoyable experience.  If you are interested in attending visit their website http://www.nasdaq.com/reference/marketsite_about.stm for details on how to be part of the LIVE audience!!!!!

Very cool lobby!

Loved the fabric of their chairs =)
